At Victoria School we installed a commercial play area planned around how a whole class uses a playground at break time. Two tensile shade canopies cover the main multi-tower playset with its spiral and straight slides. Beside it stand a swing frame, a climbing frame with a net and a climbing wall, and a flush in-ground trampoline.
The whole space is surfaced with EPDM wetpour by Urban Terrain, poured in colour zones: blue under the play structure, red under the swings and a grey road track with lane markings for ride-on toys and running games. The colours make it obvious which area belongs to which activity, without putting fences inside the playground.
