Buying playground equipment in Dubai
How much does playground equipment cost in the UAE?
There’s no honest single price. A spring rider and a full school playground sit at opposite ends of the scale, and the equipment is only part of the bill. Five things move the number: the size of the play structure, the safety surfacing under it, shade, foundations and site access, and any custom colours or branding. Send us a site plan or a few photos and we’ll price it line by line.

Specifying playground equipment for UAE heat
Summer air temperatures in Dubai regularly pass 45°C. Add strong UV and salty, humid air near the coast, and cheap plastics fade while bare steel rusts. So before anyone talks about colours, we look at what each part is made of.

Shade comes first
A great playground in full sun is empty from May to September. Decide where the shade goes (a canopy, a shade sail, or the afternoon shadow of a building) and then fit the equipment underneath it. Doing it the other way round is how projects end up paying for shade twice.
Surfacing and fall height
Anything a child can fall from needs impact-absorbing surfacing across its whole fall zone. The higher the platform, the deeper the protection has to be, which is the relationship the EN 1177 test measures. Outdoors that usually means poured EPDM rubber or artificial grass over a shock pad; indoors, interlocking foam mats do the job.
Safety
Playground safety standards in the UAE
You’ll mostly see two families of standards on UAE projects. Ask which one your consultant, school inspector or municipality expects before you choose equipment, because the paperwork has to match.
- ASTM F1487The American standard for public playground equipment. Terrain Play is an ASTM member and helps set industry safety standards.
- EN 1176 & EN 1177The European standards: EN 1176 covers the equipment itself, EN 1177 tests how well surfacing absorbs a fall.
- EN 71-1, -2, -3Toy-safety tests for mechanical properties, flammability and toxic elements. Our FoamFit protection range is tested to all three.
Our advice: ask any supplier, including us, for the test certificate of the exact product you are buying. A general company certificate doesn’t prove that a particular slide or swing passed.

Where can I buy playground equipment and playsets in Dubai?

Do you install playground equipment across the UAE?
Yes. Our own team delivers and installs play, fitness and sports equipment in all seven Emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
Is your playground equipment certified for safety?
Terrain Play is an ASTM member, and our FoamFit safety padding range is tested to EN71-1, EN71-2 and EN71-3. For any product you shortlist, ask us for the test certificate of that exact item: it is the document schools and consultants will want to see.
What safety surfacing do I need under playground equipment?
